Every mother expects their baby to be healthy after giving birth. They expect their baby to be normal and of course to be as healthy as possible. But as a mother, what would you do if you found out that the baby you gave birth to, has the rarest skin disease? Will you accept the baby and take care of it? Or you'll just give him away to someone because of so much embarrassment?
Most mothers, of course, will say that they will take care of their baby but then Mamata Dote probably did the least thing you'll ever imagine.
Mamata Dote gave birth to a baby girl who was born prematurely and only weighs 800 grams. The infant also appear to be quite different.
It was then when they found out that the 2 week old baby has a rare skin disease that makes this baby look a little old and 'wrinkly'.
Since the baby appears different from the rest of the baby's in their village, the news about this baby girl spread like a wildfire that made the citizens in Maharashtra village, Western India quite scared to come near her.
Because of so much embarrassment, the parents of this baby decided to abandon the baby, saying that they couldn't accept a child that's completely different from their first child.
But it seems, that the 50-year-old paternal grandfather of the baby, Dilip Dode sees the situation a lot different. He decided to wholeheartedly despite the baby's appearance and condition.
He even mentioned that he couldn't afford a milk that's why he just feed her with the goat's milk and promised to do anything to save her.
"It's not her fault to have been born different and I will not throw her for her disease." The grandfather said.
The grandfather then sought for a medical attention regarding the condition of his granddaughter. He wanted his daughter to receive all the treatments she needed in the Wadia Hospital in Mumbai.
He was very much grateful to the staffs of the hospital for giving everything that his granddaughter needed to have a good recovery. In fact, they were even given free medical services.
It was expected that the baby will be staying for quite some time in the hospital until she fully recovers.
The good thing about that is that the baby is now in god hands. The baby's now in the hands of people who will surely give her the love and care that every baby deserves.
