A shocking news about a 15-year-old girl was reported in India. She is Kavita Kumari, a 15-year-old girl who's addicted to eating her own hair. Instead of eating real food, she'd rather pluck her hair and eat it. Sometimes, she even tries to pluck her classmate's hair and eat it.
However, because of eating too much hair, she lost interest in eating real food and she vomits every time her parents force her to eat. Because of her unusual addiction, she often experiences abdominal pain.
When Kavita was already experiencing severe pain, her parents decided to bring her to a hospital where they were given medicines for the pain and swelling and also as a treatment for abdominal pain.
But it seems that her everything's just getting worse, so her father decided to bring her to Siddharth Multi Specialty Hospital and research Centre in Uttar Pradesh where the doctors discovered a five foot long hairball in her stomach.
"She was malnourished and very weak. She was barely able to stand on her own" The doctor said.
Kavita's condition was so bad that the doctors believe that she might not be able to survive the operation. But with her parents' consent, she underwent a surgery and is now being given medical treatments to have a good recovery.
Once she recovers, she will undergo counselling to help her with her psychological disorder.
